DRIVE - our 3rd drive, our innate need to direct our own lives, to learn and create new things, and to do better by ourselves and our world
1. autonomy - our desire to to be self-directed
2. mastery - our urge to make progress and get better at what we do
3. purpose - our yearning to contribute and to be part of something larger than ourselves
1st drive -> to survive (from our biology)
2nd drive -> looking for reward, avoid the punishment
